How To Use
New here? You've got this.
It might look intimidating at first, but trust us — switching takes one cycle to learn and zero to regret. Here's everything, step by step.
The Muses Cup — the basics.
Wash up
Clean hands before every contact with the cup — always. It's the one rule with no exceptions.
Fold it
Press the cup flat and fold in half — the C-fold. Or push one edge down into the cup — the punch-down. Use whichever feels easier.
Insert & let it open
Relax. Insert at a slight angle toward your tailbone — not straight up. You may feel a soft pop as it opens and seals.
Forget it for 12h
Swim, sleep, train, live. If it's in right you won't feel it. On heavy days, check every 4–6 hours while you learn your flow.
Remove gently
Bear down, pinch the base — not the stem — to break the seal, and ease it out. Empty into the toilet, rinse, reinsert.
Boil between cycles
Sterilise in boiling water — 3 minutes before your first use, 5–10 at the end of each period. Tip: rest the cup inside a whisk so it doesn't stick to the pot.
The Muses Panties — even easier.
Wear them exactly like regular underwear — solo on lighter days, or as backup with your cup on heavy ones. Then:
Still got questions?
What if I can't get it in on the first try?
Completely normal — most people need a cycle or two of practice. Try a different fold, a different position (one leg up works for many), and above all: relax. Tension makes insertion harder. It gets dramatically easier, we promise.
How do I know it's sealed properly?
After inserting, rotate the cup gently once or run a finger around the base — it should feel round and open, not folded. A good seal means no leaks for up to 12 hours.
Can it get lost inside me?
No. It physically cannot go anywhere — the vaginal canal ends at the cervix. If it rides up, relax, bear down gently, and pinch the base to bring it out.
Can I use the toilet with it in?
Yes — the cup sits in a different canal. Carry on as normal.
Is it safe to wear overnight?
Yes — up to 12 hours, which covers even the longest lie-in. Empty it before bed and when you wake up. Never wear it longer than 12 hours; if you ever experience sudden high fever, vomiting, rash or dizziness while using it, remove it and seek medical help immediately.
